Product Description
50% Charge Degree Cationic Polyacrylamide CPAM for Papermaking Effluent Sludge Dewatering
Polyacrylamide is extensively used in sludge thickening and dewatering processes due to its ability to enhance the separation of water from solids. In sludge thickening, polyacrylamide acts as a flocculant, aggregating fine particles into larger flocs, which increases the sludge density and reduces its volume. This makes the sludge easier to handle and process.
During sludge dewatering, polyacrylamide improves equipment efficiency such as belt presses, centrifuges, and filter presses by promoting the rapid separation of water from the sludge. The polymer chains of polyacrylamide bind with the solid particles, forming larger aggregates that can be more easily dewatered. This results in a higher solids content in the dewatered sludge and a reduction in the volume of sludge that needs to be disposed of, leading to lower disposal costs and improved operational efficiency.
Product Characteristics
  • Polyacrylamide is a typically used chemical in dewatering procedures, especially in wastewater and sludge treatment
  • Synthetic polymer made from acrylamide monomers available as white granular powder or liquid solution
  • Enhances separation process efficiency when added to sludge or wastewater
  • Forms polymer chain networks that bind solid particles for faster and more effective settling
  • Available in low, medium, and high molecular weight variants
  • Selection depends on sludge/wastewater characteristics and specific dewatering process requirements
